i need one just like the title says i figured out why its breaking up. i have had the LT out a couple times this past week. The thing rips i went riding today and never actually looked through the inspection window for the power valve. and it doesn't move when i rev it. it don't move in neutral or when i'm riding it ( took me a lil while to lean over and hit the power band lookin in there lol). I went over my buddies pulled his out and kicked it over, revved it and the power valve moved then drove it and did the same thing i'm thinking its the governor that is not functioning properly in my LT. so if anyone has one that could help me out i'd appreciate it. Thanks
Steve

its been out the three times this past summer. def not gummed up moves freely. i know it has to be the governor. it moves and comes back with the spring on the other side when i move it by hand. i adjust the tension with the spring also and still no movement.

Ive noticed the lower clip connecting the actuating rod to the valve actuator (in the case) will snag on the case. But that is also when I was playing with it during reassembly, and could see the wear marks from the clip rubbing on the case. But ran great and PV worked as it should.

See if theres any wear on anything.

And not having the bearing would deff do it too!!!

arnt there 3 bearings that the governer rotates on? upon reassembaly of my motor this last summer (before the bike was mine) i noticed there was only 1 bearing where there should be 3. back then one of my buddys owned it and dident really care if the exhaust valve worked or not.

i have the thrust bearing, the three small ball bearings and the thing moves w/o rubbing against anything. i'm pretty sure when that governor moves to a certain rpm somehting inside of it causes the exhaust valve actuator to move down which pulls the valve bracket->opening the valve. I remember when i had it apart i could shake the governor and i heard something inside jingling. i'm thinking the governor is not working correctly.

i think there is sopose to be 3 number 23's. you can see the recesses for them. mine only has one. and the plates kinda sit lopsided. i know that is my problem.

320 is my problem everything else function and moves properly.

I think that exhaust chamber door is useless. IT is not actually a valve. It changes the tuned length of the exhaust supposedly. But anyway below I posted an assembly picture:

If you wedge the valve open you loose a little lower end torque in the low rpm's. i tried it this weekend. I understand what you are saying about it not being a "valve" but w/o looking in the dictionary a valve is suppsed to open and close either letting something through or not. so i guess you can say its a valve normally closed then opened by a certain rpm letting exhaust pass through on a more direct route out the pipe.

that valve opens letting exhuast gas pass through. it makes it a straight through shot from the cylinder. how does that not help power. what do you mean with adding centline to the pipe?

the only thing i can see the lt "powervalve" doing is restricting exhaust flow. it deffinetly does not change exhaust duration like allmost every other powervalve.

exactly its restrics it for bottom end power and opens up for top end to let the exhuast flow straight through.

Look down the exhaust port and you will not see the power valve blocking the port. It is an opening to a chamber in the case halves.

So it is not restricting it or opening up to let the exhaust straight through. And that is precisely why I say it is not truely a power valve. It changes tuned exhaust pipe length and not port area.

Ever ride a quad without a power valve? Like a Banshee or TRX?

you're right. it does nothing i thought it went through to the cylinder i forgot it went to the cases. DOH!
