What are all the problems associated with putting a YZ250 engine in a blaster? Has anyone ever done this?

- Engine Mounts. We have a torch & welder, so modifying/moving/making mounts is feasable.

-Radiator Space? Is there room for a radiator in the blaster frame?

-Sprocket lining? Will that work?

-Kick starter hitting frame?

-Exhaust is left-side exit on a YZ, right? How would that work?

What else?

Wouldn't it just be best to put a 240 kit on the Blaster? Maybe do some portwork and that thing would fly.
:laugh2: Now where's the originality in that!

I thought if you wanted to make any power in a 240 kit, you needed good porting and a bigger carb? Couldn't I go get a YZ with carb for about the same from a bike junkyard?

id actually go for the 250 swap/ youll have to have a custom exhaust made unless you extend the flange as you would on a 490. its more than likely powervalved so it would be good on trails if you could handle it. the one i rode was pure balls tho.

theres been several people on here thats done the yz250 engine in a blaster. its not really that hard if you got the time, tools, and paitences to do it right. and if it ended up right you would have a rippin blaster for sure.

And I do have much more time than money. lol. I would rather do a DT200 swap than a YZ swap, but it will be much easier to find eveything I need for a YZ than it would for the DT, as I've only seen a handful of DT's on ebay in quite a bit of time searching. Can anyone hook me up with someone who's done a YZ swap in a blaster? I'd like to see what all they did for it, especially radiator placement, and how much fabrication was needed for it to bolt in a Blaster frame.

Be different. Do the YZ250 swap. Here's some picture for ideas on where to mount a radiator...PB

Is that a YZ motor in that frame there? Looks to be so. I'd like to have a setup like that. Probably flies like a fighter jet.

I second the DT200 engine. I've seen one with this setup and it flew.
I didnt even know tehre was a dt200 engine, paulie did the yz490 engine or yz400, whatever it is, hes got it ported and all, pretty sick, if theres no room for a radiator, hell just duct tape it to the bumper, if the motor mounts are wrong, just cut em out who needs em anyway?? any other questions, let me know, i usually have an easy solution

The DT200 is basically a water cooled Blaster motor.

I REALLY need to go over to the bike junkyard and start lookin for a motor to put in this thing. Maybe I can rebuild the blaster motor, and sell it to pay for the YZ. :D Anyone want a rebuilt motor/tranny? haha.
