Did Yamaha change the VIN location?

On the 89 we have its right below the engine but the other Blaster we have its not there.

Where else would it be? I cant find one in any of the visible frame areas.

I don't know that the vin # is elsewhere. Was the frame repainted or vin grinded off?
This is whats weird, the vin on the one is stamped so hard that the whole section is dimpled in a good bit.

The other one with no vin is nice and round with absolutely no grind marks or signs of being repainted.

Im stumped!
