If your just looking to replace a bad carb a stock carb would probably be your best bet. If your looking for a performance carb for your 86 in not sure what works well with the early year LT. I think there is a guy on the classifieds here parting out an 86. Probably could pick up a good carb from him. The only reason a stocker would be good is you can bolt it on, put your jets in and your good to go. No trying to dial in jetting and getting confused if your not accustom to fine tuning a carb.
A used Keihin PWK or PWK Airstryker 34-38mm is probably a better and cheaper choice. They were found on many motor cycles and they dont leak out the float bowl via he needle calve like Mikunis...god I hate those leaks.
