Confirmed...LTR450/z400 hubs will slide on no problem. I was using an LSR axle for the LT250r and needed and extra spacer, but other than that ltr hubs DO mount up. I will have a picture if someone is interested...
Ok, heres a problem, and maybe it's already been addressed.....
I bought banshee hubs for my LT.....they fit fine....I purchased a set of supposedly 10x8 banshee reaer rims and they do not fit the hubs the bolt patern on the rims are too large......
Did yamaha make two different bolt patterns for the banshee...if so what is the smaller size???
yeah in 89-90 the banshee was a 4X156 bolt pattern... but most banshees are a 4x115 bolt pattern.... they are the same splnes and such... but the 4x156 stuff s harder to find and alot less popular because they only work wth a 10" wheel....
front brakes rear brakes all electrical lights hubs wheels i am not counting the 85 86 250 tho the top arms from a 88 to 90 will work on a 90 lt250r they are like 3 inch longer tho bottoms wont there is more when i think i will let you know
i know this is my first post and i have been seaching for a while. seach option on here doesnt work.
but will an 86 eng fit in a 87+ frame. We cant get the bottom mount bolt to go through and see that we need to weld in the front down bar. but other than that is there anything else stopping it from working?
I see people going in the other direction more often, but it can be done.
The major problems you will find is making the exhaust line up & making your front & bottom engine mounts.
The better option is to get or fix your 87+ engine, I know people tend to work with what they have, but I hahte seeing good frames getting hacked. They are going to become harder & harder to find.
I have '06 LT-R450 pegs on my '90 LT250R. I drilled the holes out with a 1/2 inch bit and they bolted right up. The LTR peg doesn't rise up like the stock 250 pegs; great for us taller riders. I had to adjust the brake lever and the shifter.
I got another one the oil fill plug from the ltr450's works like a champ!!! No mods required just pull out the stock plastic crap and drop the ltr aluminum one in!!!
My experience with problematic lt250 swingarms. I have an '86 Lt250. Swing arm straps broke at the welds. Most repairs i researched kept breaking. Used arms had cracks or were repaired more than once already. Even the heavier-duty '87 arms have the same story's. The cheapest brand new was $700 plus tax and s/h. I found this dude on e-bay in Utah (SLC Quad Customs) who makes custom chromoly steel replacements for that bike. No one else on earth does! (That's what I found at least) $460 powder-coated and delivered; and i re-used all my existing parts to save money. Everything fit just like it was supposed to. Very happy with the swap! Hope that helps any of you who are considering paying $200 for a broken swingarm.
