Wow thanks for the link blaster250 that'll save me a ton of time looking all that crap up. I never thought about using the lowering link. I know the Pred. 500 shock is longer, the only thing that worries me is that it's a linkless shock, but it's adjustable enough it could probably work on just about anything. As for the front, used banshee Works look like they might be the way to go, don't think I'd put banshee stockers on because they wouldn't be too much of an improvement over the stockers I got on it now. I could actually live with those for awhile it's that damn rear that just drives me nuts.

Well I just found out that the Predator 500 rear shock measures in at 18" eye to eye, that's 3" too long.

i can rebuild the rear shocks for $140 shipped if any one is interested.

i think a warrior 350, or raptor 660 rear will bolt up. you need the older ones with the remote rezzie, or you'll have to mod the airbox. i've never tried this, just what i've read.

i changed the front shock mounts on my 86 to the 87 up style. i now use lt500r front works shocks. only problem now is the a arms are to short. its kinda tippy, needs longer arms in the front. but they do ride pretty good

dkhargett what type of riding do you do? im looking at shocks and trying to decide between a banshee and a 660 raptor. but i ride motocross, also what about the raptor 700 its rear shock .13 inches longer, with a 260 pound man with that make a difference?

My roommate has a 50th anniversary Rappy 700 and I've looked at his rear shock it looks like it'll fit but it's got the non remote rezzy similar to a banshee rear.

i think i might go with the raptor, i don't run an airbox anyway, anyone know if a bushing was made for the 450r lower moount if that could even out the pressure to the lower shock bolt won't just snap...its only an idea but i think its leading to be a bad one

The shee drops right in. I dont have the box on mine and I had no problems... I dont think it would be all that hard to make a bushing up that would work to spread the weight out on the bolt but like you said that just depends on how much you want to do with it, and if the cost is going to be much of a difference you may as well just send it off to sblt, or mx86 for a rebuild and save yourself a potential headache
