Hello! I bought a KTM EXC 200 2003 few months ago and i decided to do a top end rebuild because i saw that the piston looks pretty rough through the exhaust port. So i bought a Size B Pro-X piston and i noticed that the piston has no grooves for the circlips to stay in. i did i little test where i installed one circlip in and pushed the wrist pin from the other side with my finger. It didn t take a lot of force till the circlip got out. I m kinda scared to install it like this because the circlips might go out inside the cylinder and then everything is going to be ruined. Now my questions: 1.Have u ever seen a piston that has no grooves for the circlips? 2.Do u think that it is safe to install the piston like this?

There has to be a circlip groove. I have seen some bikes that use a plastic mushroom shaped buttons that fits inside the wrist pin and piston, but this wont work on a 2 stroke due to the ports. I presume you got new circlips with the piston. Guess you will have to exchange it.
