First I would just like to say welcome. Next I live in New Hampshire so I don't know any places to ride in Indiana.

I do have a question about your banshee what kit did you use for the *** kit. I would like to do a motor mod like that someday. How do you like the kit does it give a lot more power?

Thanks

i didn't put the engine together. i actually got a very very good deal on my quad. my friend was leaving for the marines and he called me and asked if i was interested in his banshee. i said yeah how much. when he told me 1500 i almost pissed my pants. everything that i have on the quad minus the a arms was already on the quad. so i got the elka suspension and everything for the crazy price of 1500. i cashed my check and drove as fast as i could to his house threw the money at him and left before he realized what he did. he kept his 250r (he thinks it's faster) and thankyou for the welcome. believe it or not i saw youe website on ebay. i saw the stickers on ebay and decided to drop by here and i can say that i'm very glad that i did. i have a question though has anybody ever used the direct drive clutch lockout. i need to buy one becuase my banshee slips the clutch though just about every gear. i was just wondering if anyone had used one and if it worked as good as they claim. all i know is i need something.

oh yeah i guess i really didn't answer your question. i have no idea what kit was used but he did tell me not to use wiseco pistons evidently he had a problem with burning a hole only in 1 piston. i could see how this would happen with 2 carbs but this quad only runs 1 big carb so it seemed wierd that it only did it on the left side. he started using a different brand piston (that has slipped my ind now) and the problem was solved never had a problem since. the best part about this quad is that i bought it from a friend so i know alot about it because i did alot of work on it when he was racing it.

Hey thanks for the info. I am gald you stopped by. You should post some pictures in the Photo Gallery you could win all 3 stickers. You should post the question about the clutch to Scott at SoreRacing.com he has his own section in the forum above. I have been talking to him an he definatly knows his Sh#t about 2-strokes. He also sponsers a bunch of racers so he probably has dealt with a few banshee's in his time.

About the Wiesco Piston I know there are issues with some of there product especially with the LT500 it does not fit 100% so from what I am told air leaks down and can burn up a piston.
i remembered what this banshee takes for pistons now i have to use pro-x pistons for some reason. might be becasue of the long rod crank? not sure all i know is that for now it runs strong and i plan to keep it that way. i've really heard alot of bad things about wiseco. i've only installed 1 wiseco piston and that was in a blaster for a chick friend of mine. her quad was like .070 over already and yamaha doesn;t make a blaster piston over .060 or soemthing like that so i bought that for it. it seemed to fit really nice and it ran strong. i do know that i had the machinist punch it quite tight piston to wall clearance. the rec. clearance in a blaster is i think .004-.008 i think he did it at .002-.003 it ran really well for being an all stock quad other than that piston and a cheapo cobra pipe. i use stock pistons whenever possible. my cousins race dirt bikes and they told me to always use stock pistons when i first started building these quads and they also tole me to use stock cluthes when ever possible. that does hold water thought because hinson baskets work best with stock cluth parts.

Yeah here at my place...i am biulding a mx track!! HA HA lol....its fun here
like i said in another topic where in ohio. if your in western ohio then thats great
We dont have a really big place here in Illinois like the badlands and the like. We have a shitload of motocross tracks though, especially here in the north. We do have one descent trail riding/MX type park. Its in Ottawa,IL. Its has lots of trails and a smaller MX track. Wisconsin has tons of trails, but a lot of the places are more toward 4X4's. Still cool for the rest of us but would be the shit on a 4X4.
There is a lot a riding around here i can drive pretty much an hour or less in any direction and end up at some riding place. Even though some are way better than others, and its worth to drive the extra distance.
Here in WI we have many places to ride mx or what no

And one of the cool parts about Wis. trails are lots of them go from bar to bar. there is one that even goes to a strip club. How kick ass is that

damn how do i get to these trails?? any info would be greatly appreciated. i don't drink and ride but maybe a beer would be OK. anyway i rally just like trail riding. any dificult trails??? or are they just snowmobile trails
Im not real big on drinking and riding either. But its still cool that they have a strip club you can get too.
That sounds cool. We could have an e2s ride from bar to bar ending at the strip club. That would be kick ass.
yeah that would be cool. except for the drunk ridin thing but if they are slow easy trails it would probably be ok
you don't have to get drunk. Just drink slow. One per bar.
yeah and if it takes a hour to gt to the next bar you'd have a B.A.L. of .00 again. can you get a DUI on a quad in WI????
oh yeah about the strip club. it might be hard to ride after you leave!!!!
about some trails in wisconsin...Dyracuse is a nice spot north of wisconsin dells on hwy 13 and above big flats, they have a pee wee track for the tots,a supercross type track and a motocross track that has like 2 jumps but its all like sand dunes with large up hills turns downhills and everything.then they have trails in the park that are sandy 2,then there are trails out of the park that go down different roads around the area and to a bar DIRECTIONS:take hwy 13 north of the dells to past big flats and take a right on archer drive.its a very nice drive up there :D
