So I have been restoring a 1988 KX250 and have been using it as a trail bike. its been bored out to a 300 and has been awesome on the trails, the only complaint I have is that the fuel petcock is for a MX bike where its just on and off, no reserve. I've ran out of gas one time before because I thought i had over a gallon left and was wrong, luckily I only had to push it about 2 miles. Does anybody know if there is a petcock from a different bike that with a reserve that I could use that would line up with the stock mounting? everything I have seen seems to have a larger mounting footprint than the one on my tank. My current reserve setup is a 1/4 gallon tank of gas attached to my front fender and would love to have a proper reserve instead.

I would say look at the KDX petcock but still there's the doubt about the size which isn't specified on the sites that sell new parts so best to find a used one and message the seller that you need the specs
