o i went to this place the other night to get some 111 octane gas for my lt250r because i switched over to race fuel. i pull up and its my first time getting fuel from the place. its called first fuel banks in central mn. you go to this box and you put your card in and punch in the pump your gonna get the fuel from so i do that and go put my 2 gallons of gas in the gas jug then flip the lever to stop the pump and put the nozzle back in the holder. i was like "cool, all done getting gas." and i drive away. i looked at my wells fargo online statement today which is updated daily and it says $75 from first fuel banks. WTFFFFFFFFFFF!!?!?!?!?!!?!?!?

so i go on their website and look up the price of the gas. $7.19 a gallon. ok thats reasonable. so now how did they end up charging my for $75??

then i looked up how you are supposed to do the gas thing. so once you are done pumping you are supposed to go put your card back in the box thing and get a receipt then you are done. i did not know that!!

my theory is that when i left, the next few people to fuel up there at that pump got their gas for free and i was the one paying for it.

i called but they were closed when i called so i left a message saying for them to call me at my number.

damn...i went to the station the other day and filled my streetbike with premium at almost 3 a gallon. 2.5 gallons, the total was like 7.50, according to the pump readout.

went in to pay, the guy was like 2.57. i looked at him funny, and hes like, pump 9 with the bike, right? i was like yeah.....2.57.....i was charged like 1.14 a gallon or something, according to what the register readout said. in hindsight i should have grabbed a receipt, but i just wanted to GTFO before the dumbass behind the counter caught on.

Lets hope what happened is something like Denny said, I have a friend who bought gas from Wally World recently and they put a $100 dollar hold on her account for some reason, of which she didn't have, which made her bank call her and it was a huge ordeal, needless to say she is never getting gas there again.

call the station that sold it ask about the transaction hold fee and how long the money is held and so fourth ,im sure thats what it is , with the price of fuel and poor economy people cheat the system now more than ever and i think this is a common practice in some places due to rampant fraud and people getting fuel in bogus accounts and /or with insufficent funds

haha i really just wanted to see all the replies to this. :Laugh8:

but anywho...the next day the lady there returned my call and said exactly what denny says. the credit card company that handles the charges for their accounts does charge the $75 to make sure you have the funds to buy the fuel which is ridiculous i must say! she said the actual price should come out once the transaction has gone through.

just checked the bank statement this morning and yes it did go through at 14.11 for the total cost. THANK THE LORD!!!

im gonna set up a cash account there now so i dont have to go through this again. and you also get like 20 cents off your purchases of gas with the cash account.
