Got this in an email today and thought I would share, +1 for discount bike stuff.

The manufacturer’s of motorcycle parts and accessories think you need to pay more than you need to.
Please read this email and do not delete it. It affects the prices you pay for motorcycle parts and accessories. Discount Bike Stuff works hard and believes in offering our customers the best pricing and excellent customer service. Some of the motorcycle parts manufacturers have started to institute a MAP policy. What this means to you the buyer is that you can only buy their product for M.S.R.P. This would be like going to the car dealer and you would pay the price on the window sticker, no room to negotiate, just pay it and deal with it over the next 5 years of your car payment. You would get no discount. You also would not be offered a rebate because the motorcycle parts companies that have started MAP will not allow us to offer you money back either. They believe the American way is that you pay full price for the product. THE MANUFACTURE’S DO NOT CARE THAT YOU WORK HARD TO EARN YOUR MONEY THAT YOU USE TO PURCHASE THEIR PRODUCTS. They want all of it. We at Discount Bike Stuff are a family operated business. I and my family know that the economy is not the greatest and we feel that everyone should be able to ride affordably and safely. We believe that you deserve a discount, you have worked hard to earn you money and you should have a choice in how you spend it. More and more companies are instituting this policy. At the beginning of 2009 Kuryakyn instituted this policy. Many dealers and customers stood up to them, and in December they cancelled the policy and again allowed dealers to discount the product.
I KNOW THAT MANY PEOPLE WILL JUST DELETE THIS BUT IF YOU WANT DISCOUNTS THEN I ENCOURAGE YOU TO EMAIL OR CALL THE COMPANIES THAT I LIST BELOW OR THIS WILL HAPPEN WITH MORE AND MORE PRODUCTS!!!!!!
As you can see, we were offering the Memphis Shades Batwing Fairings at $358, while they are making other sellers sell them for over $439!!! Where does that money difference go?? We saved our customers over $81 on this setup! We are here to keep you riding safely for less.
PLEASE TAKE THE TIME TO LET MEMPHIS SHADES KNOW THAT THIS POLICY IS NOT FAIR TO THE RIDERS AND USERS OF THEIR PRODUCT, AS THE NUMBERS SHOW, THERE IS NO NEED TO ENFORCE THIS TYPE OF MARK UP ON THEIR ITEMS.
Here are the current companies that believe you should buy with no discount. I encourage you to email or call them if you care about the price that you pay. Let them know that you have worked hard for your money and that they should not tell you, the end user how much you should pay for your items.
