I've been trying to figure that out also i have several & all the 87-92 start out J109- & running #'s from 109xxx to 116xxx so from that their would have been 8000motors ? i thought they made a lot more q-racers than that ???
well now we need to know a s/n from a 92
the J109-101812 could it have been 87 someone put 88-92 counter balance in ?
i've read on the 500's the 87 was the best selling year for units sold i would think the 250's sales would have been up there anyway someone found how many 500's were sold by year where did they get that info ? i'd think suzuki could tell you that if you could get a hold of the right person at corp.suzuki
I'm guessing the beginning s/n on lt250r's was J109-100000 ??? & if you knew units by year you would have it ?
Well I know that I have an 87 cylinder, the crank is a 1988 or newer. So as far the the cases go I dont really know what year they are, I was told that it was a 1990 bottom end (tranny, crank,&cases) with a 1987 top-end.
i am 99% sure this is a 1992 botom end # is J109-120925..i know the guy that had the quad before me and he never touched it..the only other owner had traded to a suzuki dealer after only a couple of years.
well that would make around 21k engines in 6 years that sounds better by chance you dont know the build date on the 92 ? it's on the sticker on the left side & probably gone by now but had to ask anyway
here is the reply i got from corp suzuki
Thank you for contacting Suzuki
