I have a 1988 KX250F and developed a leak from the countershaft. I took the collar and o ring out to clean the area assuming some sand was preventing it from sealing. the collar has a crack going completely though it. Normally this would be no issue to fix for me, but currently there are no rebuild kits available on the market. Anybody have any ideas of what to do to fix this temporarily until the kits are available again? I think I might try to JB weld it and sand it smooth but I fear that if it cracked once, JB weld won't be strong enough. I'm trying to avoid having to make a custom one as I do not have access to a machine shop but I fear that is my only option.
