ok so i just got a 2001 rm250 and it wouldnt start but has plenty of compression when i start the tear down first off i notice the guy put some random plug in it but when i pull of the head i notice two things first off there is no gasket and next there is anti-freeze on the top of the piston and in the cylinder. so is this just because there was no gasket water cae out of the jackets and into the cylinder? and how is the best way to clean it? thanks

With no gasket water was leaking into your crank case. Wipe everything out good and spray down with WD40! Dont wait either everything will rust! I would not trust the top end especially if A guy put a random plug and no head gasket on. Check to make sure everything is torqued down right and put all new gaskets on! Good luck
