I have a 91 250 exc and i just rebuilt the top end. All new seals and everything. Bike runs, but I am leaking coolent into my trans oil. It comes out the breather hose, and it started leaking like this right before it blew up. I am thinking water pump maybe? The coolant doesnt leak until the bike runs, but the amount of fluid getting into the case is startling. What else could my problem be at this point?

I'm with you. I think the water pump is most likely the culprit. If it has magnesium side covers it may be leaking through one of those. Sometimes the coolant will eat those up.

Did you remember the o ring at the front of the clutch side case. I just finished completely rebuilding my 91 250 exc and that and the water pump seal are the only 2 places I can think that water/coolant can get into the trans area. Oh ya, forgot about the waterpump area corroding out as I replaced my side case over 10 years ago.
