My story probably isn't that much different from most other peoples. My parents had Honda three-wheelers before I was born that they rode in the South Florida Everglades back in the day. In the old days, the Everglades were the Eastcoast version of Glamis. 1.5 MILLION acres in size and it was open for all different types of recreation until the environmentalists got their hands on things....ANYWAYS, mom and dad always had ATVs, and I grew up riding the 4 stroke three-wheelers from the time I was about 4 years old.

We've probably all heard the expression that the only speed limit is your wallet, maybe even a few too many times. What I'd like to offer today is a small compilation of “free” HP tricks I've learned over the years, some you've probably heard of and done yourself, but hopefully a few that are new to you as well. None of these single things by themselves will do much for you, but do them all and it WILL add up!

Make sure your carb slide is actually bottoming out at the top (AKA, wide open) when your thumb or twist throttle is all the way open. You'd be surprised how many machines have improperly adjusted throttle cables that limit themselves really only to about ¾ of what the slide opening really is.
